The story of Villa Mariolu is told in stages, from the first vine to the customers' table.
2009
The first plot
We bought a three-hectare piece of land in Sarandí, without a winery or machinery. The first step was planting malbec and bonarda, varieties we knew from the area. There was no commercial harvest in the first year: the plants needed time and we needed patience.
2013
Our own winery
With the first harvest sold in bulk, we built a concrete shed with a capacity of twelve thousand liters. We bought a used press and two steel tanks. That year we bottled our first batch: two thousand bottles of malbec, all hand-numbered.
2017
The barrel room
We added French and Argentine oak barrels for the reserve wine. The room was built underground, taking advantage of the natural ground temperature. The first barrel-aged wine hit the market in 2019, with a run of eight hundred bottles.
2022
Direct sales
We opened the tasting room at the winery itself and started selling to the public. Today we welcome visitors on weekends and ship orders across the country. The winery remains a family project: four permanent staff members, with extra hands brought in during the harvest.
